Formed in Hanover, Germany, in 1965, the band built a worldwide reputation over an extraordinary career with their unmistakable sound, high-energy live shows and an appeal that spans generations. They have sold more than 100 million records and played countless shows on the world's biggest stages. Their major breakthrough came in the 1980s with the albums Blackout and Love at First Sting, which put them among the world's rock elite. That era gave us "No One Like You", "Rock You Like a Hurricane" and "Big City Nights", all still staples of their live set. Scorpions are also known for emotional ballads, most notably "Still Loving You" and "Send Me an Angel". "Wind of Change" holds a special place in their catalogue. The song became a symbol of the political and social changes of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Inspired by the mood at the end of the Cold War, it remains one of the best-known rock ballads of all time. More than sixty years on, Scorpions have lost none of their energy. Their concerts are known for tight musicianship, standout guitar solos and a unique atmosphere that brings together fans of several generations.
