Behind aname are two respected figures of the Scandinavian electronic music scene, Marcus Schössow and Thomas Sagstad. Their musical partnership dates back to the early 2000s, when both were active in the underground house scene. During their solo careers, they released music through legendary labels including Global Underground and Ministry of Sound, establishing themselves on the international electronic music circuit. Drawing on their combined experience, they created aname, a name meaning 'to adapt' in Old Norwegian. Constant evolution, experimentation with new sounds and crossing genre boundaries are central to their work. A defining moment came with their collaboration with British trio Above & Beyond on 'Gratitude', released via Anjunabeats. Their productions have also appeared on Joris Voorn's Spectrum and Yotto's Odd One Out labels. The duo have attracted attention not only for their studio work but also for their captivating live performances.
